Applying on Oracle Taleo: autofill and statuses

On Oracle Taleo, you sign in or create an account on the employer's site before the form appears, and the form runs over several steps. Here's what Trabalero fills there, what it leaves for you, and what your status words mean.

Taleo autofill: what fills, and what's yours for now

On the two postings we measured, Autofill filled 100% and 60% of the fields our test profile could answer: first page, one press, AI answers off, nothing submitted. Last tested on a date not recorded yet. How we test →

What fills from your profile

  • The personal information step, from your profile.
  • Screening questions about your education level, your English level, your years of experience and when you can start.

Left for you, unless you choose otherwise

  • Consent boxes stay unticked, marked "review manually", unless you turn on Consent boxes in Settings. We haven't checked this on Oracle Taleo yet, so look it over yourself.
  • Sensitive questions stay blank, marked "answer manually", unless you've chosen to save your own answers in your account settings, and those answers are never sent to AI. We haven't checked this on Oracle Taleo yet, so look it over yourself. Sensitive questions: your call →
  • Security clearance, tick-box lists and free-text answers. These stay yours.
  • Password boxes. Trabalero doesn't create accounts or fill password boxes.

Fill these by hand for now

  • "How did you hear about us", where a second list appears after the first.
  • A date typed as free text.
  • Your phone number, if it's refused. Some employers accept only one phone format, so retype yours in theirs.

How far we tested: the first three steps of a longer form. Later steps weren't checked, so look them over yourself.

You press Submit. Autofill never sends an application.

AI drafts it. You review it.

Oracle Taleo application status meanings

Waiting to hear back is hard. Here's what Oracle's own documentation says about Taleo statuses.

Where to see your status

Sign in on the employer's career site. Oracle's documentation says candidates see their status on the My Submissions page, where the employer has switched status display on.

The words depend on the employer

Taleo comes with three default statuses, and employers can replace them with their own labels for each step of their hiring process, with a description you can read. The same word can mean different things at different employers. Only your employer can tell you exactly what theirs means.

If you seeWhat it means by default
DraftYou haven't finished the application yet.
CompleteYou've completed the application.
WithdrawnYou withdrew the application.

Seeing another label? Your employer has set its own. Ask the recruiter or HR contact on the job posting or in your confirmation email what it means.

Keep every status in one place

Trabalero's Applications tracker keeps every application in one list, whatever system it went through:

  • applications you submit through the side panel are logged for you;
  • you set each status yourself: Saved, Applied, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected or Withdrawn;
  • a note holds the employer's exact wording, so it still makes sense next month.

The tracker needs a free account.
