How Trabalero handles your data

Is Trabalero safe to use? Here is exactly what it can see, what it sends, and what it never does, so you can decide for yourself.

The short version:

  • It fills forms in your browser, and only when you press Autofill.
  • It never presses submit on its own.
  • AI runs only when you ask for it, and sees only what that request needs.
  • Sensitive questions and consent boxes are left for you unless you choose otherwise.
  • Your data is kept in the EU, and you can export or delete it yourself.

What the extension can see, and when it acts

Application forms can sit on almost any website, so the extension asks Chrome for permission to read and change the pages you open. That permission is what lets it fill a form on an employer's own site.

What it does with it:

  • It changes nothing on a page until you press a button in the side panel.
  • It fills a form when you press Autofill, from the profile you chose.
  • It never submits an application. The side panel's Submit button presses the form's own submit button, and only when you press it.
  • The pages you visit stay in your browser, apart from the three things listed in the next section.

If you use an account, the extension connects through your sign-in on trabalero.com in the same browser. It never sees your password. Settings lists each browser it syncs from, and revoking one stops it syncing.

What leaves your browser

The pages you visit stay in your browser, except:

  • a short excerpt of the job description, when you save an application or ask for AI help on a posting;
  • the text of the questions you ask the AI to answer;
  • the job postings you opened recently (title, company, link and time), so you can find them again.

If you create an account, what you save there, such as your profiles, CVs, documents, applications and saved answers, is kept in your account.

What AI receives

AI runs only when you ask for it, by pressing an AI button. Autofill never sends anything to AI. And AI runs only while AI processing is on in Settings. Nothing goes to AI on its own.

Each AI feature sends only what that request needs. CV files are never sent, only the text your browser reads from them.

Who runs it. Our server, in the EU, sends your AI requests straight to the AI model: Anthropic's Claude, in the United States; that transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Anthropic doesn't train its models on what you send through us.

AI drafts; you decide. It drafts answers, letters and CV changes for you to review. It decides nothing about you. Check everything before you send it.

Turning it off. Switch off AI processing in Settings and every AI feature pauses, on the website and in the extension, until you switch it back on. Turning it off withdraws your consent. It doesn't undo work already done: a profile filled in from your CV stays as it is.

Where your data lives

In the EU. Two things leave the EEA:

  • AI requests you make, to Anthropic in the United States;
  • payments, to Stripe.
  1. Your browser · stays on your deviceAutofill reads the form and fills it here. The pages you visit stay in your browser.
  2. Your account · kept in the EUYour profile, applications and documents. There's no employer side: an employer sees your details only when you apply. Export or delete everything from Settings whenever you like.
  3. An AI request you make · leaves the EEASent to Anthropic in the United States, only when you ask, and only what that request needs. Never your CV file.
  4. A payment · leaves the EEAHandled by Stripe. We sell nothing and show no ads.
Where your data goes, from your browser outwards.

Sensitive questions are your call

Questions about race and ethnicity, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation and gender identity, religion, union membership and health are left for you by default: not filled, not stored.

Turn on Self-identification in Settings and Trabalero stores and fills your own answers. They're never sent to AI, whether that setting is on or off.

You press submit

  • No auto-submit. Trabalero never sends an application on its own. You review every one and press submit yourself.
  • Consent boxes are your call. Terms, privacy and "I certify" boxes are left for you by default. Turn on Consent boxes in the extension and it ticks a single routine box for you, marked so you can check it; never a group and never one about sensitive data.
  • No guessing on dropdowns. A dropdown is left empty when the site doesn't confirm the choice took, rather than set wrong.

Who can see your data

Only you. We sell nothing, show no ads and use no advertising trackers. There is no employer side: an employer sees your details only when you apply.

Your rights, all self-serve

You don't have to write to anyone to use them. In Settings, once signed in:

Export my data
Downloads everything we hold about you.
Delete my data
Removes your profiles, CVs, documents, applications, saved answers and history, and keeps your account and purchases.
Delete my account

Neither deletion can be undone.
