Help and FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most. Still stuck? Contact us.

Left for you on purpose: a consent box, a sensitive question, an unconfirmed dropdown.

Autofill

What does Autofill fill in?

Application forms, from your active profile: name, contact details, address, links, work history, education, skills and languages. Anything it can't match stays empty for you. It never submits an application; you review and send every one.

Will it submit an application for me?

No. Trabalero never submits on its own. The side panel's Submit button presses the form's own submit button, and only when you press it.

Is Autofill limited?

No. Autofill is free and unlimited, with or without an account, with or without a pass.

Do I need an account?

Not for Autofill. An account adds Applications (the tracker), your profiles and documents on the website, the CV builder and the AI features.

Why was a question left for me?
  • Consent boxes (terms, privacy, “I certify”) are yours, unless you turn on Consent boxes in the extension. Even then it ticks only a single routine box.
  • Questions on race, health, religion and the other topics in Sensitive questions are yours, unless you allow them in Settings.
  • A dropdown is left empty when the site doesn't confirm the choice took, rather than set wrong.
Which sites does it work on?

Employers' own application forms, on the application systems we've tested. Where it works lists 45 of them, with a measured fill rate for 43, and how we test explains the numbers. It doesn't work inside LinkedIn Easy Apply.

Does it work on every job site?

No. Sites change their forms, so one can stop working without notice; we fix what we can. If a form breaks, press Report a problem in the side panel.

Does it work on forms in other languages?

Not yet. Trabalero works on English-language application forms.

The browser extension

How do I install it?

From the Chrome Web Store: Add to Chrome. If you have an account, Settings, Browser extension links there too.

Does it work in Firefox?

Not yet. Firefox is coming. For now, Trabalero works in Chrome.

How does it connect to my account?

Sign in to trabalero.com in the same browser. The extension uses that sign-in and never sees your password. Settings lists each browser it syncs from; revoking one stops it syncing.

What does it send you?

The pages you visit stay in your browser, except:

  • a short excerpt of the job description, when you save an application or ask for AI help on a posting;
  • the text of the questions you ask the AI to answer;
  • the job postings you opened recently (title, company, link and time), so you can find them again.

AI features

When is AI used?

Only when you ask for it, by pressing an AI button. Autofill never sends anything to AI. And only while AI processing is on in Settings. Nothing goes to AI on its own.

Who are the AI service providers?

Our server, in the EU, sends your AI requests straight to Anthropic, in the United States, which runs the AI model (Claude); that transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Anthropic doesn't train its models on what you send through us.

What does each AI feature send?

Only what that request needs. CV files are never sent, only the text your browser reads from them.

What each AI feature sends
FeatureWhat it sends
Read a CV into your profileThe CV's text
Analyse or rewrite a CVThe CV's text and your profile
Tailor a CV to a jobThe CV's text, the job description and your profile
Edit a CV with AIYour instruction and the CV you're editing
Write a cover letterYour profile and the job description
Improve a cover letterYour profile and your letter
Answer application questionsThe questions (with a dropdown's options), the job description and your profile. Special category questions are never sent.
Interview PrepThe company, the job title, the job description and your profile
How do I turn AI off?

In Settings, AI processing. Turning it off withdraws your consent and pauses every AI feature, on the website and in the extension, until you turn it back on. It doesn't affect processing already done: a profile filled in from your CV stays as it is.

Does the AI decide anything about me?

No. It drafts answers, letters and CV changes for you to review. Check everything before you send it.

Your data and privacy

Where is my data kept?

In the EU. Two things leave the EEA: AI requests you make, to Anthropic in the United States, and payments, to Stripe.

Who can see it?

Only you. We sell nothing, show no ads, use no trackers and have no employer side: an employer sees your details only when you apply.

What about questions on race, health, religion and the like?

By default they're never stored, filled or sent to AI. In Settings, Special category data you can allow storing and filling your answers. They're never sent to AI either way.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Settings, Your data: Export my data downloads everything we hold about you.

How do I delete my data or my account?

In Settings. Delete my data removes your profiles, CVs, documents, applications, saved answers and history, and keeps your account and purchases. Delete my account removes everything we hold. Your payment records stay with the payment provider, for as long as tax law requires. Neither can be undone.

Which cookies do you use?

Only the ones that keep you signed in.

Passes and refunds

What's free?

Autofill, always, with no account. A free account also includes a small allowance of some AI features, which doesn't reset. Pricing lists them.

How do passes work?

A pass lasts a week or a month, then simply ends. You pay once; there's no subscription and nothing renews. There's no daily cap, so you use the allowance whenever you like, and a pass bought before the last one ends stacks onto it. Pricing shows what each pass includes.

Can I get a refund?

A pass can be refunded if you haven't used any AI feature since you bought it. Write to [OWNER: support email].

What happens to my saved answers when a pass ends?

Saved answers come with any pass. Without one they're kept and you can delete them, but they're not used; they come back with your next pass.
