Teamtailor autofill: what fills, and what's yours for now
On the one posting we measured, Autofill filled 83% of the fields our test profile could answer: first page, one press, AI answers off, nothing submitted. Last tested 16 September 2026. How we test →
What fills from your profile
- Your first and last name, email, and phone number with its country.
- Your notice period.
- Your saved cover letter, in full, in the cover-letter box.
- Your CV (résumé) file.
Left for you, unless you choose otherwise
- Consent boxes stay unticked, marked "review manually", unless you turn on Consent boxes in Settings. Then it ticks only the required privacy acknowledgement; a box about being contacted for future jobs stays with you.
- Sensitive questions stay blank, marked "answer manually", unless you've chosen to save your own answers in your account settings, and those answers are never sent to AI. The form we tested didn't ask any. Sensitive questions: your call →
- Sponsorship questions that name a country. Your answer depends on the country, so it stays yours.
Fill these by hand for now
- A monthly salary question. Your saved figure is yearly, so Autofill leaves it for you.
- Location lists, where you tick the places you'd work.
- "Where do you currently live?" Autofill leaves it for an AI draft, though your city is saved. Check it before you submit.
- The country code marker. A "pick the country code" marker can stay on the phone box after the country is set. Check the code, then carry on.
- An "Additional files" upload. Autofill can mark it as your website. Ignore that marker, and attach any extra files yourself.
You press Submit. Autofill never sends an application.
AI drafts it. You review it.
Teamtailor application status meanings
Waiting to hear back is hard. Here's what Teamtailor shows you, where the company switches it on.
Where to see your status
Some companies turn on a Teamtailor feature that shows candidates their status. Where they do, you see it on your Connect dashboard after you log in to your profile. Teamtailor's help says a company can also switch it off for a single job, so one company can show it on one job and not another.
What each status means
| If you see | What it means, per Teamtailor |
|---|---|
| Unread | Your application hasn't been opened yet. |
| Inbox | Someone at the company has opened it, and it's still at the first stage. |
| In progress | It has moved past the first stage. You don't see which stage it's at. |
| Hired | You've been moved to the Hired stage. |
| Rejected | The application was rejected. When you see this can depend on when the rejection email goes out. |
"In progress" covers every stage between the first one and the end, so it can stay the same for a while. Only the company can tell you exactly where you stand: ask the recruiter or HR contact on the job posting or in your confirmation email.
Keep every status in one place
Trabalero's Applications tracker keeps every application in one list, whatever system it went through:
- applications you submit through the side panel are logged for you;
- you set each status yourself: Saved, Applied, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected or Withdrawn;
- a note holds the employer's exact wording, so it still makes sense next month.
The tracker needs a free account.
Why did a company add my information?
Hearing that a company has added your details, when you never applied, can come as a surprise. In Teamtailor, a company can add a candidate to its account by hand, and Teamtailor's help for recruiters calls that status "Sourced". The same help lists permission statuses too, for whether a candidate has agreed to the company storing and using their data.
Under the GDPR, a company that gets your personal data from somewhere other than you has to tell you who it is and how to contact it, why it holds your data, what kind of data, and where it came from. It has to do that within a reasonable time, and at the latest within one month. That's Article 14 of the GDPR.
Questions about what it holds go to that company, using the contact details it gave you.
